Model 5 operates in a fully integrated way and today presents itself as a single interlocutor for the design process, able of partnering and supporting the customer in the creation of any type of automotive or industrial project.
The Company is made up of a team of top-level professionals, able of managing and developing entire projects, or supporting the customer during single design phases.
The various departments have the possibility of working together, to develop the entire project, or as separate structures, able of dealing with individual design phases.
The goal is always to provide maximum flexibility and speed of response to our customers, maintaining extremely high quality in all phases of the process.
Style
Our team of talented designers and creatives combines excellent artistic skills with the necessary concreteness, to produce fascinating and original design concepts.
We adopt a concrete approach, taking into account from the beginning the technical/economic aspects, considered not simply as constraints, but also as a source of inspiration, on a par with emotional and aesthetic factors.
Thanks to the adoption of the most advanced tools (including Artificial Intelligence tools), we are able to greatly accelerate the first phase of style research, arriving quickly and extremely effectively at the creation of a 3D Model highly realistic.
Our methodology, with the help of the most advanced Virtual Reality technologies, allows the customer to visualize and evaluate the product from the early design phases, as if it were already fully made.
The proven experience of our team gives the customer the security of seeing the project realized in accordance with the aesthetic concept, at the same time respecting the parameters of cost, simplicity of production and assembly.
3D Modelling
Our 3D Modeling department is made up of top-level professionals, who adopt proven methodologies to achieve the highest standards of quality and accuracy, capable of meeting the specifications of even the most demanding customers, in the automotive or industrial area.
A team of absolute excellence, able of developing all kinds of 3D mathematics, both with Sub-D and NURBS modeling, at the service of the entire style process that goes from the creative concept to the A-Class Surfaces, in close interaction with the engineering and industrialization phases of the project:
- Advanced Modelling and Concept Modelling (Blender, Alias Sub-D, Alias)
- CAS Modelling and C-Class (Alias Sub-D, Alias, ICEM Surf)
- Computational Modelling (Grasshopper, Dynamo)
- A-Class (Alias, ICEM Surf)
Engineering
Our Engineering department, thanks to its proven experience, synergy and specific skills present in the team, is able to face any design challenge, both in the industrial and automotive fields, responding to customer needs, using the main CAD systems (Catia V5, Unigraphics NX, Team Center):
- Style Convergence
- Feasibility Studies
- Design and Mathematization of interior and exterior finishing elements
- Design and Mathematization of body elements and moving parts.
The Model 5 team has over time developed specific expertise in the design of ONE-OFF, FEW OFF and ULSP, using materials such as carbon fiber, resin and aluminum.
The areas of activity start from the Style Convergence and Feasibility, up to the creation of 3D Mathematics and, when necessary, also of the completions necessary for the various processes and creations.
Virtual Visualization
An accurate and realistic visualization of the project is extremely important to correctly and in real time evaluate the status of the project, any critical issues and design alternatives.
The virtual offers us, from the very early stages, the possibility of visualizing and evaluating all the components of the project simultaneously, in an extremely accurate way, often allowing a saving of time and resources.
Our virtual visualization team works with the most advanced tools currently available (VRED, Unreal Engine, Unity but also with Blender) and takes care of preparing immersive scenes for the real-time presentation of a project, or emotional videos for the final presentation, adding animations and defining variants in order to effectively evaluate the different design alternatives.
We integrated the use of latest-generation virtual reality devices into our workflow, which are now part of the tools currently used by our team: these immersive devices allow you to live an extremely realistic experience, very close to that of the working model, but with significantly lower costs and times.
UX-UI design
With the spread of technologies such as touch displays, artificial intelligence and autonomous driving, and more generally with the growing digitalization of objects (and specifically of vehicle interiors), UX (User Experience) and UI (User Interface) design play an increasingly fundamental role in ensuring the safety, functionality, usability and attractiveness of vehicles or products.
UX designers focus on the analysis and design of user experiences, while UI designers deal with the visual aspect and interaction models.
The UX-UI department integrates the seamless use of the main tools (Figma, Protopie, After Effects) combined with the creativity, market and user analysis skills, and passion for new technologies of our designers.
The team is able to follow all the phases of the process, from preliminary research, to concept definition, to the production of graphics and motion graphics, up to prototyping and testing, integrating perfectly with the Virtual Visualization team
Model Shop
Model 5 is able to create style models and prototypes, both for the automotive and industrial sectors, meeting all types of quality requirements.
The modelling department uses high-level equipment and is able to create prototypes of all sizes (up to a 1:1 scale model of a car interior/exterior), but also details or parts of interior mock-ups, milled seat foams, bonnets and carbon fiber details (also with aluminum inserts milled from solid), style models of any size, both for automotive and industrial design.
